Unlike typical food pantries like Second Harvest Food Bank that supply traditional American food, CẢM ƠN provides Vietnamese communities with food items that are specific to the Vietnamese diet. For example, instead of a receiving a jar of peanut butter and spaghetti sauce, individuals and families might receive instant noodles and various Vietnamese condiments.
When we plan distributions, we typically focus on one neighborhood. We reach out to the neighborhood's residents and other members of their community to create a list of residents that could benefit most from CẢM ƠN's services. Candidates can also be nominated.
