STEP 1:
Donations
CẢM ƠN is a non-profit service project. 100% of proceeds received are put directly towards food distributions.
I was inspired by my godmother who works with Houston Food Bank, and I wanted to bring something like that to New Orleans. Giving back to the community has always been a goal of mine, and being raised by parents who emigrated from Vietnam, I've learned how lucky I am to have the resources I need to be supported. So, I decided to start CẢM ƠN, (which translates to "thank you" in Vietnamese) a project that is focused on providing food and other necessities to Vietnamese communities in need.
By creating a service specialized for the needs of Vietnamese communities, CẢM ƠN promotes social and cultural awareness in hopes of educating others on Vietnamese culture and tradition.
CẢM ƠN provides individuals and families with food specific to the Vietnamese diet, working to reduce food waste, a common issue with traditional food pantries that provide mainly American food items.

STEP 2:
Not every distribution is the same. Some distributions will deliver hot meals, and others will focus on pantry staples. I source food items from Vietnamese markets and partner with local Vietnamese small businesses for each distribution.
STEP 3:
On distribution day, we hand deliver the food packages to each individual's home. This ensures that every candidate receives his or her food items and aids those who may have mobility issues.
